NEP + Light the Night

NEP volunteers at Light the Night for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2016 Light the Night Walk took place at McFerson Commons on Friday, October 21. NEP’s team attended the walk and received an award for outstanding efforts during its first year as a fundraising team.

Thousands from across central Ohio gathered to celebrate the efforts of local fundraising teams, build awareness and honor blood cancer survivors. Walkers carry illuminated balloons – traditionally, white balloons are carried by survivors while red are carried by supporters. Team NEP had 31 members and raised a total of $3,262.92 for the LLS. They were the tenth highest corporate fundraising team, and received the Rookie Team of the Year (Corporate) award at the Light the Night Walk ceremony.

Founded in 1949, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The organization’s Light the Night walk events are hosted across the country each year and provide crucial support and awareness in the effort to find cures and ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

Started in 2013, Energize Columbus provides NEP employees with opportunities to give back to the Columbus community through volunteer programs, its partner schools, fundraising and other charitable contributions.
